Final week of #FollowThatCouch begins Feb. 24

Starting on Monday, Feb. 24, you have just a handful of remaining opportunities to have a seat on the American Heart Association’s Red Couch. Or, should we say, Red Couches.

Red Couch No. 1 will be placed inside the “Power Gallery” at the Alabama Power Company headquarters on Monday morning, where it will remain until the end of the week.

Red Couch No. 2 will be at Samford University’s Pete Hanna Center on Thursday night, Feb. 27, for the Bulldogs’ home basketball game versus Appalachian State. Everyone in attendance is encouraged to dress in red for the game, which tips at 7 p.m.

Finally, Red Couch No. 3 – yes, No. 3 – will be making a quick stop at the Regions Bank corporate center off Lakeshore Drive on Monday morning, Feb. 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This is a make-up stop, necessitated by the most recent of the Snowpocalypses. Or, Snowpocalypsi…whichever.

Three couches, five days. You’d better make your plans and mark your calendars. And remember, when you see one of the Red Couches, take a photo and upload it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the #FollowThatCouch hashtag!

For the next two days, Vulcan Park will be hosting the Red Couch tour. Stop Thursday or Friday to see the Couch, take a photo and learn more about your heart disease risk factors. Vulcan Park is located at 1701 Valley View Drive, atop Red Mountain.

Also, remember that Red Couch No. 2 is at Macy’s in Brookwood Village today through the end of the week. During business hours, shoppers at the Macy’s department store inside Brookwood Village will have a chance to experience the Red Couch tour firsthand. Stop by the in-store display, take a selfie on the Couch and pick up some important information about heart disease risk factors.
