The Red Couch Campaign officially gets underway this weekend with the first of three public tour stops.
Friday, Feb. 1, 6 to 8 a.m., at St. Vincent’s One Nineteen: Before you begin your morning commute, put on your finest red apparel and stop by St. Vincent’s One Nineteen (7191 Cahaba Valley Rd., 35242) between 6 and 8 a.m to have a seat on The Red Couch. The American Heart Association, along with St. Vincent’s Health System and KISS FM, will be on-hand to celebrate the tenth anniversary of National Wear Red Day. St. Vincent’s will be providing free blood pressure screenings during the event.
Friday, Feb. 1, 11 to 11:30 a.m., Wear Red Day Rally at Linn Park: The annual Wear Red Day Rally is returning to Birmingham’s Linn Park (710 20th St. No., 35203) on Friday morning, from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Join Birmingham Mayor William Bell as he signs the city’s Wear Red Day proclamation and celebrate the tenth anniversary of Go Red For Women with employees from Alabama Power, Regions Bank and other area businesses.
Saturday, Feb. 2, 2 to 4 p.m., at The Summit: Join the Red Couch Campaign at The Summit shopping center (U.S. 280 and I-459), between Gus Mayer and Belk, between 2 and 4 p.m.
